Privacy Policy · Plainly Spoken

Your reading is your own.

Saqlain is built so you can read, reflect, and pray without being watched, profiled, or sold. Below is exactly what we collect, what we do not, and the rights you have.

Last revised · May 2026Effective immediatelyPlain English

No behavioural tracking

We don't record which ayahs, duas, or pages you read. There's nothing to profile and nothing to sell.

Your data, your device

Bookmarks and journal entries stay on your device by default. Cloud sync is opt-in and encrypted.

Zero ad SDKs

No third-party advertising libraries. No data brokers. Ever.

PreambleThis policy is written so a reader, not only a lawyer, can understand it. Where a term might mean two things, we use the plainer one. If anything below is unclear, please write to us and we will rewrite it.
Chapter · 01

The short version

Saqlain is a reading and reflection app. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We collect the minimum needed to run the service, and most of what you do in the app — bookmarks, journal entries, reading progress — is stored privately on your own device.

Chapter · 02

What we collect

When you use Saqlain, we may receive basic technical information from your device (such as device model, operating system version, app version, and crash logs). If you create an account, we store your email address and an encrypted password. If you opt in to cloud sync, we store your bookmarks and journal entries so they can be restored on another device.

Chapter · 03

What we do not collect

We do not track which ayahs, duas, or pages you read. We do not build behavioural profiles for advertising. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs. We do not sell data to any partner.

Chapter · 04

App permissions

Saqlain may request location permission for prayer tools; microphone permission for voice features; notification permission for reminders; and photo library access only when you choose related sharing or saving actions. All permissions are optional and can be managed from your device settings at any time.

Chapter · 05

AI features disclaimer

The Ask Saqlain AI feature is designed for learning and reflection. AI responses are not always complete or perfectly accurate. For important religious matters, verify with a qualified Islamic scholar. AI responses are not a substitute for scholarly guidance.

Chapter · 06

Children & families

Saqlain is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information without parental consent, please contact us so we can remove it.

Chapter · 07

Third parties

We use trusted service providers for crash reporting and (optionally) account hosting. These providers are contractually bound to handle data in line with this policy. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

Chapter · 08

Your rights

You can request a copy of the data associated with your account, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it permanently. Account-free use of the app stores nothing about you on our servers — simply uninstalling the app removes everything.

Chapter · 09

Changes to this policy

If we materially change how we handle data, we'll update this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. The 'last updated' date always reflects the current version.
